Ernestine Horton Ewing

Nashville, TN

Mrs. Ernestine Horton Ewing entered this earthly life on May 31, 1928. She was born to the late Vula Mae and L.D. Horton in Fackler, AL. She peacefully passed away on June 18, 2014 at the Alive Hospice Saint Thomas Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.

She is preceded in death by parents; husband, John Willie Ewing, Jr.; son, Wendell Ewing; and brothers, L.W. and Edward Horton.

She leaves to cherish her memories, sons, Willie Jerome, Gary D. and Terence L. "Terry" Ewing; devoted sisters, Kathleen Jenkins, Scottsboro, AL, Mamie A. (Damon) Warfield and Lela Fay Ewing; brothers, David Horton, Scottsboro, AL and Jimmy (Glenda) Horton, Montgomery, AL; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

A special thanks to her devoted caregiver, Barbara Bryant. Visitation Friday, June 20, 2014 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home, 660 Thompson Lane, Nashville, TN 37204.

Services Saturday, June 21, 2014. Vistitation 10 a.m., services to follow at 11 a.m., at Faith United Missionary Baptist Church, 600 Revels Drive, Nashville, TN 37207. Pastor Roosevelt Walker, Sr. officiating. Interment immediately following service with escorted procession to Woodlawn Memorial Park.
