James (Jim) A. Parnell
Age 63, passed away June 29, 2014.
Jim was an Associate Minister for Donelson Church of Christ for 40 years, he was the Chaplin for Summit Medical Center for 7 years, he also served as a counselor for Maple Hill Church of Christ. Jim graduated from MTSU with a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology and taught as an adjunct professor at Lipscomb University. In 2014, he received the Frist Humanitarian Award from Summit Medical Center.
Preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Linda Sue Parnell; step-mother, Martha M. Parnell.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Libby Parnell; sons, Ross Parnell (Stacey) and Graham Parnell (Ashley); grandchildren, Jackson Parnell and Marley Parnell; sister, JoAnn Parnell Young (Jerry).
A Memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 3, 2014 at the Donelson Church of Christ. The family will receive friends 2 hours prior to the service at the church.
