Ambrose Rusell Moss

Nashville, TN

Ambrose Russell Moss, age 88, passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2014.

Mr. Moss was born, September 23, 1925 in Clarksville, TN, son of the late Tallie and Mary Moss. Mr. Moss proudly served in the Marine Corp during World War II. After his service in the Armed Forces, he moved to Washington, DC where is began his career with the FBI in the fingerprint division. Five years later, he transferred to Nashville, TN to begin his 29 years of faithful service to the TBI, where he helped establish the fingerprint, narcotics and organized crime divisions.

He is preceded in death by a brother, Eugene Daniel Moss.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Jane Moss; son, Gregory (Ina) Moss; daughter, Marcia (Gary) Lowe; grandchildren, Madeline Walker, Brandon Lowe, Michelle Lowe, Gregory Jr., Jonathan and Joshua Moss; great-grandchildren, Maggie and Allie Walker.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at eleven o'clock in the morning Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Church of the Advent on Franklin Rd.

A Gathering of Friends will be held from four o'clock in the afternoon until eight Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home, and one hour prior to service time at the church. Private entombment to follow the Celebration of Life service in the Woodlawn Cross Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions made to Alive Hospice and Church of the Advent.
