On Sunday, July 20, 2014, Prince H. Aydelott, age 92 of Dickson, TN, ended his journey on earth. Mr. Aydelott was born on January 7, 1922 to Leonard and Ethel Aydelott on Swan Creek in Centerville, TN.

After serving with the United States Coast Guard during World War II, he received a Bachelor's degree from Tennessee Technological University and a Masters degree from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. Mr. Aydelott taught vocational agriculture at Gallatin High School for seven years, during which time he helped to initiate a chapter of the Future Farmers of America there. He then joined the Ralston Purina Company, with whom he worked for 22 years as a district sales manager.

While in Gallatin, Mr. and Mrs. Aydelott were instrumental in starting the Hartsville Pike Church of Christ. In Dickson, he served as a deacon and an elder at the Walnut Street Church of Christ, and as an adult Bible school teacher for both the Walnut Street congregation and the Pomona Church of Christ. Mr. Aydelott loved spending time with his family, raising cattle, and working in his garden.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Ethel Aydelott; sisters, Floy Overby and Grace Hicks, and brothers, Clyde Aydelott, Wright Aydelott and Horace Aydelott.

Mr. Aydelott is survived by his wife of 70 years, Anna B. Holliman Aydelott; brothers, L.T. and Gray Aydelott; daughters, Becky Cline (Sherman) and Betsy Anderson (Eddie); four grandchildren, Cali Watts (Devin), Cory Anderson (Jessica), Rachel Hedge (Chris) and Evans Cline (Holly); and six great-grandchildren, Charlie and Sophie Hedge, Blake and Hattie Watts, Olivia Cline and Jax Anderson.

Visitation for Mr. Aydelott will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 from 12 until 2 p.m., at the Taylor Funeral Home, followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m., and Interment at Union Cemetery. Bob Terrell, minister for the Clanton Church of Christ in Clanton, Alabama, Sherman Cline, Eddie Anderson, sons-in-law of Mr. Aydelott, will officiate at the funeral service, with congregational singing led by Curtis Southerland. Paul Darety, minister of the Pomona Church of Christ, will conduct the graveside service.

Active Pallbearers will be Cory Anderson, Evans Cline, Chris Hedge, Devin Watts, Gilbert Lankford and Sammy Nicks. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mr. Aydelott's nieces and nephew. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Pomona Church of Christ.
