Cottontown, TN

Age 94, passed away Thursday, August 7, 2014. Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Sunday, August 10th at Cross Plains United Methodist Church, with Brother Clint Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Cross Plains Cemetery.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 9th from 4-8 p.m., at Family Heritage Funeral Home, with Masonic Service at 7 p.m., and Sunday, August 10th from 2 p.m. until time of service at the church.

Mr. McCreary was born May 8, 1920 in Cottontown, TN, son of the late William E. and Minnie Briley McCreary. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by wife of 59 years, Nell Katheryn McCreary; son-in-law, Jim Beasley; siblings, Elizabeth McCreary, Ewell McCreary and Fred McCreary; foster parents, Eralso and Alma Roney.

He is survived by daughter, Katheryn Beasley of Cottontown; grandchildren, Kimberly Billings (Brian) of St. Louis, MO and Jim Beasley, Jr. (Lisa) of North Pole, AK; great-grandchildren, Katheryn Ann Billings and Leo Ford Beasley.

Mr. McCreary retired from the State of Tennessee Safety Department where he was a vehicle enforcement officer.
