Age 88, passed away at Mainland Medical Center in Texas City, Texas on Friday, August 1, 2014.

Elder Thompson was a resident of Nashville, TN, an Elder of the Church of God in Christ, received two honorable U.S. Navy discharges, WWII & Korean Conflict, married 56 years to Agnes Carol (deceased), retired 35 years. Labors Local Union & Rand McNally, wrote songs and poetry, some published, loved God, friends and loved to sing.

Survived by son, George Thompson, Nashville, Tennessee; daughter, Olivia Patricia Sharpe (Juan); grandchildren, Crystal & Christy Sharpe, Texas City, Texas; sister, Kym Thompson Dukes, Nashville, Tennessee; a host of family and friends.

Viewing Friday, 12-6 p.m, at the funeral home. Visitation Saturday, August 16, 2014 at 10 -11 a.m.with funeral to follow at Living Word International Church of God in Christ, 5100 Wyoming Ave., Nashville, Tennessee, Officiated by Bishop George Adebanjo. Burial at Middle TN Veterans Cemetery.
