David Lee Thompson

White House, TN

David Lee Thompson, age 84 of White House, TN, passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2014.

He was born in Cross Plains, TN on April 12, 1930 to parents, Charles Bryan and Emma Swann Thompson. He graduated from Cross Plains High School. He was a member of Cross Plains United Methodist Church.

He retired from the Metro Police Department with 31 years service. He served as Police Lieutenant for Metro and after retirement, he served as Chief Deputy of Robertson County Sheriff's Department. After his retirements, he returned to his first love, which was farming, and farmed for 20 years. He was very active in his Masonic Lodge and was also a member of the Scottish Rite.

David was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Marijo Combs.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Jo "Tuttie" Thompson; daughter, Emaly Boyd Thompson of Goodlettsville; several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at Austin & Bell Funeral Home, White House on Friday, August 15th from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m., and Saturday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. A Masonic Service will be conducted 7 p.m. Friday.

Funeral service 1 p.m. Saturday, August 16th at Austin & Bell Funeral Home, with Rev. Phillip Wright and Rev. Clint Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Cross Plains Cemetery.

Broadrick, Don Henry, Will Ed Osborne, Harold "Jack" Evans, Joe Wilkinson, Don Presley and Larry Simmons.
