When I was little I grew up listening to Charlie and the Hamsters this morning "Say a prayer" was in my mind and so I looked dear Mr. Floyd and happened to see this obituary. He is the only person I ever wrote a fan letter to. I was very little and had gotten a record from a yardsale and would play it all the time. My mom helped me write the letter. I'm grown now and still think about these songs from time to time. God bless and thank you God for the time he was here and the music and message he left.

I will always remember the dad of my best friend Sherry. He took me, my sister and brother riding on his motorcycle and one unforgettable airplane ride. He had a big heart for children and his fellow man. I know he's making beautiful music for Jesus in Heaven. Rest In Peace . We will all see you again someday. Prayers for the family today and always....Diane Baker

Sherrie and family, I'm so sorry for your loss. I just found out yesterday and wanted to send my deepest heartfelt sympathy. Your dad was such a nice person, always polite, always smiling. We (our family) go way back, lots of nice memories. I know Dady and Floyd were good friends for a lot of years. You all are in my prayers as you go through this great loss. With deep sympathy, Marsha (Coggins) Vick)

Floyd , I'll always cherish the time we spent together writing all those "Hit Songs". I'll Never Forget What's Her Name , the giant Love Song : I'll Always Be There For You (Unless I'm Somewhere Else) , and then there was that Monster Hit , Baby ,Your Breath Could Knock A Buzzard Off A Out House . The card and letter rolled in after that one ! Thanks Mom. Then there was all those years we played music on the road . We had to , nobody would let us in. all seriousness aside , When you see Jesus give Him a kiss on those nail scarred feet and tell Him it's from your ole buddy Steve. The world is a better place because of ya . Praise God you are Home ! Bless the Family

Sending our prayers and condolences to Floyd's wife and his family, especially to his brother Billy and Billy's wife Carolyn. We knew Floyd from our Sho-Bud days and through our long and great friendship with Billy and Carolyn. God bless him and may he rest in peace now and always. Leslie and Ron Elliott.

My prayers are with my classmate Sherry and family. I remember working for Mr. Robinson at the Ye Olde Dairy Restaurant when it opened. Always encouraging with his positive outlook on life left an impression for a 17 year old just starting out. Job well done, sir.

Floyd Robinson was my brother-in-law.
He had a tremendous effect on my life, especially my young years.
When he was dating my sister, he kindled my interest in the guitar. He gave me a three quarter size Martin guitar when I was very young. I was thrilled not only to get that guitar, but to think that it came from a Grand Ole Opry musician.
Floyd would come over to the house to date my sister, and he would show me a "lick" on the guitar. I'd practice it and show it to him on the next date. I remember the first song he taught me, "Little Liza Jane". I always wanted to learn to play like him. He was working with Little Jimmy Dickens back then. He inspired me to take lessons, and if I hadn't I probably would have never taken up the guitar.
I've enjoyed years of playing because of him. I think of him every time I play a gig.
Floyd was a very unique human being. There's not much in life that he hasn't tried and succeeded at. From playing music, to writing songs, to making hit records, to building houses, (including one for me and Joyce (wife), to building and owning several businesses, to managing properties, to flying airplanes, and the list goes on.
He squeezed a lot of living in his life and helped a lot of us along the way.
I am so glad he was a part of my life, and I have been richer for it. See you in Heaven Floyd!
