My memories of May go back to our Hillsboro days. But now whenever I see something on the TV or the newspaper about the fires or the Smokies, I think of May. She holds a place in my heart.

You don't know me but I lived up the road on Bear Walk Way. I drove a white Nissan truck and we would wave every time we passed. I don't know if you were aware but when we were evacuating the fire I stopped at your house and beat on your door. I knew you were home because I saw your TV on and both cars in the driveway. I just found out about May today when I was finally able to get back on the mountain. I am truly sorry. I wish that I could have helped. I will continue to keep you in my prayers.

Thinking of the Vance family at this time of loss. I remember May from Hillsboro as one who always had a smile for everyone. My heart is heavy with your loss, never thinking that the fire would touch me personally. May God bless you as you walk through this valley.

This is just so sad! My prayers and deepest sympathy to Jimmy and family. Recent surgery prevents me from attending the service. I have fond memories I cherish from our Hillsboro days.
