TRAVIS, JR., Charles Franklin "Frank"Age 65 of Murfreesboro, died Monday, May 18, 2009. He was a native of Nashville, and a retired High School English Teacher and Baskeball Coach. He taught at Cumberland, Pearl, Hume-Fogg and Hillwood High Schools. In 2008, Frank was inducted into the Region 6 AAA Coaches Association. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Virginia S.Travis "Jenny"; son and daughter-in-law, Charles Franklin Travis III (Chas) and his wife, Havala Travis; grandsons, Charles Franklin Travis IV (Charlie) and Daniel Brandston Travis, all of Murfreesboro; father, Charles Franklin Travis, Sr. of Smyrna; sisters, Tanya Brindley of Smyrna, Theresa Bass of Bellevue. He was preceded in death by his mother, June Oliver Travis. Memorials may be made in memory of Mr. Travis to the Monroe Harding Children's Home or to any local library. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. Friday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Memorial service will be 4 p.m. Friday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel, with Brent Wills and Lyon Walkup officiating.
