Former pastor of 1st Baptist Church Woodland of Birmingham, AL. Survived by son, Odie M. Hoover IV, Atlanta, GA and daughter, Bryanah DeNise Hoover, Birmingham, AL; sisters, Carmelia Cammon-Brooks, Nashville, TN, Carol Hoover and Patricia Hoover, Cleveland, OH; nephews, Luther C. Harris III, Shelton Cammon, Nashville, TN and Justin Chadwick Brooks, Baton Rouge, LA and stepfather, W.L. Cammon. Family visitation Sunday, August 30, 2009 at Temple Church, 3810 Kings Lane, from 5-6:30 p.m., with Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. service at 5:30 p.m. Body will lie in state Monday, August 31, 2009 from 12-1 p.m., with funeral to follow at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 1112 Jefferson Street, Nashville, TN. Interment Historic Greenwood Main Cemetery.
