MONGOLD, Robert EugeneAge 88, better known to Nashville radio and TV audiences as Bob Randall, June 30, 2010. Survived by his wife of 64 years, Gloria; daughter, Lori McKnight of Jacksonville, FL; sons, Jeffrey (Rita), Nashville, TN; David (Jenny), Honolulu, HI; James (Susan), Knoxville, TN. Also, survived by granddaughters, Lindsey Vartanian (Lee), Jacksonville, FL; Amanda Robinson (Andrew), Murfreesboro, TN; and great granddaughter, Norah Vartanian, Jacksonville, FL. Mr. Mongold was born and raised in Iowa. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II. His career in radio and television spanned 40 years. He joined WSM in 1967 as the morning news voice and retired in June, 1984. He is probably best remembered for his "Ranger Bob" fishing reports on the Friday edition of the Ralph Emery Morning Show on channel 4. A private memorial service has yet to be scheduled.
