Another year has passed and my memory of this young woman lives as bright as it did when I met her many, many years ago with Mary Kay Director Elmer T. Johnson. No one could say Mr Emerson like she would. God´s continued joy to her entire family.

Mrs Annie will always be remembered as the cutest, funniest Seasoned Mary Kay consultant in the Magnificent Shining Stars Unit. She and Mrs Elmer T. Johnson our Director had the prettiest smiles & the cutest smiles. I miss them and pray for the families continued joy!

Mrs. Able a kind, sweet, caring young lady who always laughed or had a smile that warmed all of our hearts. She was my Mary Kay sister who said, "Elmer (Mrs. Elmer T. Johnson, Mary Kay Sales Director - RIH) convinced me I could be a Mary Kay Consultant" and then laughed so hard and we all laughed with her. She talked about Emerson (her husband) all the time and her children. I know the time has past and you probably wonder why I'm writing now ... I just learned about her passing today after another Mary Kay sister Patsy Turner Riddle asked me about her. We along with other "Magnicificent Shining Stars" remember her today March 3-2021 with love, warm hearts and other our sincere sympathies.

The year was 1963. I was a student in the 5th grade. Mrs. Able was my teacher. She was fantastic. I have always admired her for her warm spirit and sincerity concerning my education. The day that President Kennedy was assasinated , I saw her cry for him. It really made a lasting impression on my life. I heard of her passing February 26, 2012. She was important to my life and growth. I pray for the family. Pastor Donald Chism

Mrs.Able was by far my one of my favorite teachers, she always had a kind but firm approach to teaching. I would often stop by to see her when I was in high school, its because of her that I taught school for a number of years. Mrs Able will be surely missed.

Mrs. Able taught me more in the fifth grade than any other year of school in my life, even through my college years. The life lessons she taught at Longview Elementary have guided me to this day. Rest in peace Mrs. Able. www.HarlemLegends.com

Mrs. Able was a great fifth grade teacher at Longview Elementary. After all of these years, she is one of my early educators that I remember best and often. I definitely attribute a portion of my educational achievements to her.

Latonya, my friend and co worker...I was very saddened to hear of the passing of your mother. As I know, our Mother is our greatest friend, ten fold. My wish is that the memories that you shared with your mother can lend a sense of comfort to you now and in the days ahead. Your loss will be overwhelming for a while, but let yourself cry and lean on your friends and co workers for that extra strength. You know that you can always call on me.
Mr. Emerson Able, my friend and Musical Idol...I saw you at Rudy Williams' Celebration, blowing your horn in the greatest style that a great Saxaphone player can show. From my High School Days in Herman Rankins' Band and the times that the Carver and Manassas Bands took trips to Atlanta together, for the Morris Brown and Clark-Atlanta Football games at Thanksgiving time. You were the Carver Band's second Maestro and remained loyal to Herman Rankins throughout his career steps and ultimate retirement...and even now. No words can adequately express the sadness that I feel for your loss. My wish, is that your memories give you strength. My thoughts are with you.

Mr. Able, may the Lord shine his mercy and grace upon the Able family during this very difficult time. Annie will always be remembered as a role model for all Spouses of Band directors, she was the engine that kept Emerson motivated which ultimately enabled him to produce so many outstanding student musicians for a period of over Forty years. Remember to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. The Lord could use some more champions like Annie who lived life to it's fullest and touched the lives of so many children while working as an educator. The Almighty Lord will give the family the strength to endure these trials and tribulations and Annie's life reflected the kind of life to live that is pleasing in the sight of the Lord and her memory will be cherished for years to come.

Dr. Able,
I pray that God surrounds you and your family with the peace that only He can provide in times of bereavement. Your mother positively influenced the lives of many children who passed through the halls of Magnolia Elementary School. Teaching effectively and loving children unconditionally reflected her giving spirit. There is honor in the legacy that she built and I have no doubt that her work was pleasing to Him. Your mother taught my oldest sister Yvonne, and I am very grateful for that. You and your family are in our prayers.
