LAYNE, Charles Ellis "Chuck"Age 69 of Franklin, was found Wednesday, October 17, 2012at 2:16 pm at his residence in Franklin, KY. He was born in Glasgow, KY and a native of Fountain Run, KY. Real Estate Broker and Auctioneer, owned Layne Real Estate and Auctioneers, Inc., and Belle Meade Manor Apartment Homes in Franklin, he was a former partner in Greenup & Layne Reality, Executive Auctioneers with Ron Kirby and Bud Greenup. He had worked with Red Baron Antiques Auction in Atlanta, Hudson & Marshall and the Nashville Auto Auction as the lead Auctioneer for 25+ years. He was a an active member of Hillvue Heights Church. He was also active with the Boys and Girls Club. He had served on the boards of Franklin Bank & Trust, and Franklin Habitat for Humanity as a charter member. He was a member of ATO, a graduate of Western Kentucky University and taught at Franklin-Simpson High School in 1968. Additionally, he was an active member of the Franklin Rotary Club for many years, Toastmasters, National Auctioneers Association, Realtors Association and KY Auctioneers Association, Board President of the Fix Foundation in Franklin, KY. He was active with the American Cancer Society, and was a cancer survivor. He is survived by former wife and business partner, Susan Layne of Franklin; his mother, Helen Bishop Layne and her sister, Ruth Compton of Bowling Green; sister-in-law, Sarah Layne of Fountain Run and her sons, Blake Layne and wife Sandy, and their son, Brandt of Bowling Green; Cody Layne of Fountain Run and Bo Layne of Fountain Run. A Celebration of Life will be 12 Noon Monday, at the Hillvue Heights Worship Center, 3219 Nashville Road, Bowling Green, KY.
