KRAUSS, Barbara Marlin Age 86 of Goodlettsville, died January 2, 2013 at Alive Hospice at St. Thomas. Born September 18, 1926 in Avon Park, FL to the late Louie Roscoe and Mabel Eurcel Russell Marlin. Survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, William Edward Krauss; daughters, Vicki Ellen (Bert) Tolleson of Adams, Lori Anne Krauss of Silver Springs, MD; granddaughters, Christie Rainwater (Thomas) Greever of Murfreesboro, Kellye Michelle Rainwater of Nashville; great-grandson, Braxton Daniel Greever of Murfreesboro. Mrs. Krauss earned a BFA degree in voice from the University of Georgia and a Master's of Elementary Education from Texas Christian University. She held membership in Sigma Alpha Iota Sorority and AAUW. She taught music at DeSoto Elementary School in Tampa, FL. Upon moving to Orlando, FL, she joined Central Christian Church where she sang in the choir, served as Deaconess and served as a Chi Rho and CYF youth group sponsor. She enjoyed singing in various community music groups and also served as President of Lake Como Elementary PTA. Her hobbies included Girl Scouting, sewing, quilting, and china painting. She was currently a member of Connell United Methodist Church in Goodlettsville. Although she was blind for the last 12 years of her life, Mrs. Krauss continued to fully enjoy life with her family. Memorial services are pending, with Pastor Paul Gardner officiating. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Music Progam at Connell United Methodist Church.
