HARTER, JR., Curtiss W. The founder of Comdata Corporation, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2013 in Boca Raton, FL. He was 71 years old. Known to many as "CW", he was a man of great vision who set his sights on what some would say was an "Impossible Dream" and achieved it all. Early in his life, Mr. Harter recognized the country's need for a faster method of money transfer and processing, he created the debit card and computer tracking of expenses. Initially, this service began for the Trucking and Transportation Industry. Comdata Corporation of Nashville, TN soon became the world's recognized leader in payment innovations and solutions for money transfer, payroll debit cards and data-processing operations. After many successful years, CW Harter Jr. eventually sold his company and retired to Boca Raton where he resided peacefully with his wife, Myriam Luz Harter. Visiting hours and a Wake Service will be held on Thursday, June 13th, from 3-8 p.m. at Glick Family Funeral Home in Boca Raton, 561-672-1880. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Boca Raton on Friday, June 14th, at 11 a.m. followed by interment at The Gardens Memorial Park.
