STEPHENS, John EddAge 91 of Lebanon. Passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at the University Medical Center. Preceded in death by parents, Hatton & Agnes McLeod Stephens; sister, Mildred (Fred) Maggart; brother, Jack Stephens; niece, Jeanette Eskew; uncle, Oatman "O.T." Stephens. Survived by wife of 63 years, Nedra Brender Stephens; sons, Loren (Peggy) Stephens of Lafayette and Tom (Maggie) Stephens of Memphis; daughter, Charnell (Bruce) Johnson of Lebanon; sister, Isabel Eskew of Winchester; grandchildren, Dr. Trenton J. Stephens of Franklin and Aubrey, Mallory, Heath, and Luke Johnson, all of Lebanon; nieces, Stephanie (Jim) Swann & Martha (Bob) Funke; nephews, Sam (Pam) Eskew and John (Rita) Maggart; sister-in-law, Sue Stephens Johnson of Hermitage; and several great nephews and great-great nieces & nephews. Mr. Stephens was a graduate of Watertown High School and the Cumberland School of Law. He was a United States Air Force Retired Lt. Col. serving 27 years. He served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars and was a WWll P 51 Pilot. He was past President of the Noon Rotary and a member since 1967. He served the club as International Exchange Liaison with Rotary of Tennessee bringing individuals from other parts of the world to Middle Tennessee. He has also recently served the club as Historian. He was given a Paul Harris Fellow award by the club for his service. He was also a member of First Baptist Church, former director of Lebanon Bank and current Director of First TN Lebanon. Mr. Stephens retired to Lebanon in 1967 where he started his second career as a financial advisor utilizing his Cumberland Law degree and his securities license. He served many individuals and families facing life and estate issues. He worked for Wiley Brothers-Aintree Capital Investments prior to his second retirement. Visitation will be on Saturday, August 3, 2013 from 3 p.m. - 7 p.m. in the Partlow Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 4, 2013 at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church with visitation one hour prior to the service. Bro. Don McElroy and Bro. David Freeman will Officiate. Family and friends will serve as Pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers: Lebanon Noon Rotary Club and Directors of First Tn Bank Lebanon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Lebanon Noon Rotary Club End Polio Foundation or Friendship Christian School.
