MORTON, Ruby Grayson PageOf Nashville, TN and Stuart, FL, went peacefully to be with the Lord August 9, 2013. She was born in Arrington, TN September 27, 1918. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clara and John Webb Page; husband of fifty-two years, William Taylor Morton; sister, Corene Elizer; brothers, John Jr., Herbert, and Searcy. She is survived by her daughter, June Morton; sister, Joyce Jones of Portland, TN; and sister-in-law, Maxine Page. Ruby enjoyed her career in the nursing profession for approximately forty-two years. Upon her retirement, she moved to Stuart, FL where she attended the First Presbyterian Church of Stuart. Ruby was an eighty-two year member of the West Nashville Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she was instrumental along with her husband in the development of the Parents Day Out Program and the establishment of the Member's Endowment Fund. In earlier years, she served as a Sunday School Teacher and Bible School Teacher. One of her interests was the Memphis Theological Seminary. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Monday at the Mount Olivet Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the West Nashville Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Dr. Daniel J. Earheart-Brown, President of the Memphis Theological Seminary, Rev. Rickey Page, Pastor of the WNCP Church, Rev. Roger Patton Jr., Pastor of The Connection-A Cumberland Presbyterian Congregation officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Olivet Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Terry Page, Greg Dunkle, Roger Patton, Sr., Roy McPherson, Tommy Proctor, Ronnie Anderson, Went Caldwell, Jr., and Phil Carr. Honorary Pallbearers will be Page Elizer, Frank Estes, the active and inactive Elders of the WNCP Church, and the current and Past Trustees of the Memphis Theological Seminary. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Ruby Page Morton Endowment at the Memphis Theological Seminary, 168 East Parkway South, Memphis, TN 38104; or the Member's Endowment Fund, West Nashville Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 6849 Charlotte Pike, Nashville, TN 37209, (615) 255-4193.
