Earlene Ellison Bolling Obituary
Earlene Ellison Bolling

Murfreesboro, TN

Angels carried Earlene Ellison Bolling to eternal peace on the evening of Sunday, December 8, 2013. She was surrounded with her family at Vanderbilt University Hospital at the time of her passing at the age of 70 years old.

Earlene was born and raised in Pound, Virginia.

Earlene graduated from Pound High School in 1961 and began secretarial work for the Undersecretary of the U.S. Department of Labor in Washington, D.C. She married in 1962 and raised three boys while husband Dan served in the U.S. Army. In the late 1970s to early 1980s, Earlene worked in the Department of Defense as a secretary in the Fort Campbell, Kentucky school system and the Austin Peay State University campus at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. In the late 1980s to early 2000s, Mrs. Bolling worked as a secretary at Fort Drum, New York and McDonald Army Community Hospital at Fort Eustis, Virginia.

Mrs. Bolling talked fondly of her years attending Pound High School and residing in Washington, D.C., while working her first federal job. She enjoyed recipes, cooking and made sure there was always a dog in the family. Occasional visits to Hawaii, walking dogs and feeding backyard wildlife filled her retirement years. She is remembered as placing others' needs above hers and as a loving mother.

Earlene is survived by her husband, Daniel Robin Bolling of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; her mother, Essie Ellison of Pound, Virginia; sister, Sharon Young of Mount Juliet, Tennessee; brothers, Eddie Lee Ellison and Danny Earl Ellison of Pound, Virginia; sons, Michael Robin Bolling of Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina, Richard Kelly Bolling of Yorktown, Virginia, and Jeffrey Neal Bolling of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; daughter-in-law, Erin Bolling and granddaughter, Emma Bolling of Yorktown, Virginia; daughter-in-law, Ronda Rawlins Bolling; grandson, Jacob Bolling and granddaughter, Noel Bolling of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; niece, Stacy Young Post of Nashville, Tennessee; nephew, James Young of Mount Juliet, Tennessee and nephew, Eddie Lee Ellison, Jr. of Pound, Virginia.

She was preceded in death by her father, Earl Ellison.
