Bates, Stephanie Ann - Branchport  
Branchport | Stephanie Ann Bates, age 38, of Branchport, NY, granddaughter of the late Nancy and Roy Crockett of Virginia Beach, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 18th, 2015. Stephanie was born in Portsmouth, Virginia on October 16th, 1976. She was a graduate of Chapel Hill High School in NC, the North Carolina State University, and earned her Master's Degree from the University of Phoenix. Stephanie was employed with Pro Action as the Assistant Director of the Yates County Office of the Aging and was recently promoted to Director of Special Projects for Pro Action in Bath, NY. The Penn Yan Rotary Club recently honored her for her work and volunteerism in the Yates County community. Stephanie is survived by her loving husband, Corey Bates; her sons, John 'Jack' and Andrew Bates; her mother, Susan (Roger) Boyd; father, John (Lisa) Barber; sister, Lindsay (Dan) Chin; step sisters, Ashley Patrick and Allison Oser; step brother, Joel Oser; mother in law, Joan Bates; brothers in law, Gregory (Lisa) Bates, Jeffrey (Kathy) Bates, and Christopher (Deborah) Bates; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, as well as, many wonderful friends. In addition to her grandparents, Nancy and Roy; she was predeceased by her father in law, Gerard Bates. Friends and family may call from 4pm to 7pm on Wednesday, April 22nd, 2015 at the Townsend-Wood Funeral Chapel, 201 E. Elm St., Penn Yan, NY 14527. A funeral service honoring her life will be held on Thursday, April 23rd, 2015 at 11am at the First Baptist Church of Penn Yan, 224 Main St., Penn Yan, NY 14527, with the Rev. Stephen Sanden officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made for the children of Corey & Stephanie Bates, ATTN: Community Bank, PO Box 276, Penn Yan, NY 14527 or to Milly's Pantry, 19 Main St., Penn Yan, NY 14527. Clark, Laurence Sawyer "Larry" - Corning  
Corning | Laurence (Larry) Sawyer Clark of Corning, NY passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on April 18, 2015. He was born to William Irving and Louise Sawyer Clark on February 5th, 1939. He earned his bachelor's degree from Hobart College and a master's degree in business from Syracuse University. Larry served as an officer in United States Air Force. Upon the completion of his time in the service, he joined Corning Inc. where he enjoyed a successful career until his retirement. Larry's wife, Abby Simmons Clark, predeceased him shortly after their 50th wedding anniversary. He is survived by his sons, Laurence Jr. (Mari Tobita) of New York City and Mark (Stacy Westphal) of Valois, NY; grandsons, Fielding and Gavin Clark; sister, Louise Hood (Glenn) of Kennebunk, ME; brother-in-law, Fielding Simmons (Diane) of Vero Beach, FL; and sister-in-law, Helen Szarowski (Donald) of Greenville, NY; as well as, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, William (Bill) I. Clark and Timothy H. Clark. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 5:00pm on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at Phillips Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 17 W. Pulteney St., Corning, NY, Rev. Gary McCaslin officiating. Burial will be held at Southlawn Cemetery in Williamstown, Massachusetts at the convenience of the family. Ferry, Robert H. - Lindley  
Lindley | Robert H. Ferry, age 93, of Lindley, NY, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Absolut Care of Three Rivers in Painted Post. Robert was born on August 22, 1921 in Caton, the son of Hiriam and Lena (Brimmer) Ferry. He served in the Army during World War II as a courier in the Philippines. He later married Elizabeth Snyder in July of 1963. They made their home in Lindley, and recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Robert retired from Corning Glass Works in 1983 and enjoyed a lengthy retirement. He had a passion for the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. He was an avid woodworker and could make just about anything he needed with wood. Robert will be dearly missed by his family, but he leaves behind a lifetime of memories. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Doty Snyder Ferry; 5 daughters, Christine (Charles) Horning of Lindley, NY, and Carol, Robin, Sharon and Lindy, all of Australia; son, Raymond (Theresa) Ferry of Lindley; step-sons, Randy (Carol) Snyder of Vero Beach , FL, Ben (Patti) Snyder of Lindley, Greg Snyder of Vero Beach, FL; step-daughter, Diane (Robert) McPherson of Maiden, NC; brother, Eldon Ferry of Orlando, FL; and several grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Elmwood Cemetery, 11161 Hendy Hollow Road in Caton at 2:00PM with Al Horning officiating. Fisher, Mae Alice "Mary" - South Corning  
Mae Alice (Mary) Fisher, 87, went home to Glory on April 14, 2015 after a brief illness. She was born in Lacey, Arkansas on October 31, 1927 to the late Lizzie (Spencer) and Clifton Daniels. She was a retired glass inspector from Corning Inc. She was a faithful servant to God and her family and will be best remembered for her potato salad, peach cobbler, and apple and sweet potato pies! She will be reunited in heaven with her husband of 54 years, Dalton Fisher, and her daughters; Betty Jo (Robert) Hampton, and Barbara Ann (John) Fisher Smiley; and sons Winford Fisher and Rev. Dalton (Peter) Fisher and several siblings, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She is survived by sisters; Versa Fisher of Corning, NY, Maxine (Paul) Sulek of New Jersey, sons; Dalton Jr.(Martha) Fisher of Warren, Arkansas, Paul (Shirley) Fisher of Corning, NY, Anthony (Elizabeth) Fisher of Elmira, NY; and Murray Neal Fisher of Corning, NY and daughters; Alice Newkirk of Corning, NY, Vickie (Michael) Williams of Corning, NY, Diane (Scott) Green of Corning, NY. While Mae has a host of step-children, grand-children, great grand-children, and great great grand-children left to mourn her passing, a special "Thank You" goes out to Trenell (Patrick) Filkins and their children, Shaleigha Fisher and her children, Jessica Balance, and Kiona Fisher for her personal care. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones. Calling hours will be from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. at the Friendship Baptist Church on Pearl Street, in Corning NY. Funeral services will following at 10:00 a.m. There will be graveside services at Hope Cemetery and then a repast at Friendship Baptist.

Guilfoyle, David B. - Painted Post  
Painted Post | David B. Guilfoyle, age 58, of Painted Post, NY, passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2015, surrounded by his family and friends in the home he built. David was born on October 15, 1956 in Syracuse, NY, the son of the late Richard T. and Laura G. (Stark) Guilfoyle. He was a graduate of Geneva High School, Class of 1974. He married Diane K. Rynearson on August 18, 1990 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Corning, NY. He worked as a stone mason for 10 years with his company, Talison in Painted Post, NY. He was an artisanal stone craftsman and a longtime member of the Brick Layers & Allied Craftsman, Local 3. He loved the outdoors - an avid and accomplished outdoorsman. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family, always attending his children's athletic activities. He is survived by his loving wife, Diane K. Guilfoyle, of Painted Post; daughter, Colleen Guilfoyle of Painted Post; son, Brian Guilfoyle of Painted Post; step-daughter, Tara (Beau Reed) Ruggles of Painted Post; grandchildren, Taylor Ruggles and Jaxon Reed; brothers, Richard (Erica) Guilfoyle of Rochester, NY, Joseph Guilfoyle of Waterloo, NY; sisters, Theresa (Steve) Lahr of Waterloo, NY, Melanie (Mark) Jones of Geneva, NY, Gail (Jack) Lyle of Bath, NY; and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, April 18, 2015 from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at Carpenter's Funeral Home, 14 E. Pulteney Street in Corning. A memorial service will immediately follow there at 2:00pm with Fr. Lewis Brown officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in David's name may be sent to: David Guilfoyle Student Athlete Scholarship, P.O. Box 384, Painted Post, NY 14870.
