Edward Lawrence Peirson(1936 - 2014)

April 11, 1936 - January 31, 2014 Edward Peirson, 77, of Cotuit and Marco Island, FL passed away on January 31st after a long battle with cancer.

He graduated from Middlesex School in Concord Ma in 1954 and Harvard University in 1958.

Immediately after his graduation from Harvard, he married his long time sweetheart, Susan Rothschild and entered the United States Marine Corps as a Second Lieutenant.

After three years as an amphibious boat captain he left the Marines and joined Corning Inc. selling medical supplies.

He had a long and illustrious 31 year career at Corning Inc. and retired as a Senior Vice President. During retirement he split his time between Marco Island, FL and Cotuit, MA.

He had a lifetime love for boating whether racing at the Cotuit Mosquito Yacht Club or cruising the intracoastal with Susan.

He leaves behind his wife of 55 years, Susan Rothschild Peirson, his daughter Elizabeth Lawrence Peirson of Cotuit, his son Nicholas Daland Peirson of Fort Lauderdale and two grandchildren, Samuel Lawrence Peirson, 19 and Haydn Lawrence Higgins also 19.

Funeral service to be held at the Cotuit Federated Church, School St., Cotuit on Friday, February 7th at 1:00 pm.

Burial will follow in Mosswood Cemetery, Putnam Ave., Cotuit.
