Frank B. Wilson, age 84, formerly of Corning and Painted Post, NY died Friday, November 8, 2013 at the Steuben County Health Care Facility in Bath, NY where he resided for the past 3 years.
Born March 12, 1929 in Penn Yan, NY, Frank was the son of Asa Wilson and Leshia Rockwell.
He was educated in the Penn Yan area schools and moved to Corning in 1956 where he met and married Mary Grace McCarthy on November 24, 1956 at St Vincent de Paul Church. Grace preceded him in death on October 11, 2010.
Frank held a variety of positions in the corning and Elmira area and retired from Corning Inc. Big Flats in 1993.
He is survived by two daughters, Julie (Steven) Tatro of Savona and Patricia "Tish" Bixby of Corning; a son, Daniel (Kathy) Wilson of Corning; seven grandchildren, Brittany Wilson, Jenna (Jeremy) Fusare, Tiffany (Eric) Perry, Steven Tatro II, Tommie Benjamin, Kyle Bixby, and Jordan Bixby; great-grandchildren, Kayleigh and Kamryn Fusare, Alana Grace Jones, and Haven Perry; sisters-in-law, Maureen McCarthy of Corning and Joanna McCarthy of Schenectady; several nieces and nephews. Frank was predeceased by his sisters, Joan Wilson and Carol Paciulli.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, November 11th from 4 - 7 PM at Haughey Funeral Home, Inc., 216 E. First Street in Corning where funeral services will follow at 7:00 PM. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Corning.
Frank's family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff of the Steuben County Health Care Facility and the friends he made during his time there.
