Anthony F. Carideo Obituary
Katonah, NY | Anthony F. Carideo, 87 of 40 Hickory Road, Katonah, NY, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2014 at the Veterans Hospital in Bath, N.Y.
Born in Mt. Vernon, NY, he was the son of the late Cosimo and Angelina (Zuzolo) Carideo. He served during World War II in the U.S. Army, and was stationed in Hawaii.
Tony married Ines Comin June 30, 1956, she survives him.
He was a graduate of Edison Technical High School and New York University in New York City.
Tony was a Teacher, employed by Bedford Central School District, Bedford Hills NY for over 30 years.
He was an active member of the Boys Club of Mount Vernon. He fulfilled his enjoyment for athletics through his coaching career, and his passion for watching the Yankees and his grandchildren play many sports. Tony was a natural handy-man.
Surviving besides his wife are two daughters: Antonia (Luke) Woody of Montgomery, NY and Irene (Kevin) Furness of Campbell, NY; triplet grandchildren: Olivia Furness, Kevin Furness, and Ryan Furness of Campbell, NY. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Friends will be received at Carpenters Funeral Home LLC, 14 E. Pulteney St. in Corning on Wednesday January 15th from 4:00 to 7:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, January 16th at 9:30am at Immaculate Heart Church, Painted Post, NY.
Entombment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Corning. A memorial service will be held at a later date in his home town of Katonah, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Vernon Boys and Girls Club, 350 South Sixth Ave., Mt. Vernon, NY 10550 or to the Hershey Ronald McDonald House, 746 West Governor Road, Hershey, PA 17033.
