Edward Gene Jackson Sr., 68, passed away on Saturday December 31, 2016 at home. He was born in Rathbone, NY, on July 22, 1948 the son of the late Walter Jackson and Beatrice (Horton) Jackson.

He worked in many capacities at Mercury Aircraft Inc. in Hammondsport, NY until his retirement as Operations Manager with 47 years of service. He touched the lives of many people and is deeply respected both in the community and family. He was a hard working man who's family meant the world to him. He enjoyed his 28 years with his wife Susan. Ed was an avid outdoorsman and hunting enthusiast. He was a member of the Hammondsport Moose and the Hammondsport American Legion. He was also a member of the National Wildlife Turkey Federation.

Ed's favorite thing was being a grandfather to his grandchildren and loved camping.

He was predeceased by his parents.

He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years Susan (Hyer) Jackson, his children Laura (Lewis) Soles, Edward G. (Sandra) Jackson Jr., Angela (Brian) Davis, Kimberly (Bill Petko) Jackson, Valerie Jackson (Josh), Charles (Belinda) Hoad III, Shauna (Kathleen Henry) Stratton, Shonda (Paul) Sprague, Charlene Hoad, grandchildren Amanda, Melissa, Edward III, Wesley, Nash, Alexis, James, LeAnna, Lauren, Connie, Michael, Michael, Krystena, Zacherie, Ivan, Tristan, Johnathan, Anthony, Aaron, Jesse, Carter and Dodge. His siblings Walter, Pauline, Joyce, Milford, Franklin, Wilby, Neva, Judy, Bonnie, Jeane and Kay, 6 great grandchildren McKensie, Nicholas, Natalie, Emmit, Abigail and 1 expected, several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are being observed on Friday January 6, 2017 from 10:00 to 12:00 and 1:00 to 4:00pm at St. Thomas Episcopal Church 122 Liberty Street Bath where his Funeral Service will immediately follow the calling hours at 4:00pm.

Arrangements are being handled by Bond-Davis Funeral Home of Bath.
