Kris Goodrich Obituary

Kris Charles Goodrich, 62, of Bath, New York passed away on July 30, 2018 in his home with his family and friends by his side. Loving him dearly, and bonding together to deliver him to his Jesus and God, who he loved with all his heart, Kris was never alone in his valiant battle with cancer.

Kris cherished his family. He loved every minute of every hour being part of their lives.

He is survived by his wife; Rebecca (Becky Keeler), daughter; Heather (Brad) Farrow, sons; Adam (Lori) Kisiah, and Aaron (Bryanne) Kisiah, grandchildren; Noah, Maximus, Finley, Maddyson and Mya.

In addition to his immediate family, Kris is survived by his Mother; Dorothy (Father Leigh - predeceased), his sister; Susan (Jay) Dickson, brothers; Jim (Anna) Goodrich, and Bob (Barb) Goodrich, and many nieces and nephews.

Born on December 24, 1955 in Bath, NY, to Leigh and Dorothy Goodrich, Kris grew up in the close knit village of Avoca, New York where he graduated in 1973. In 1977, Kris established Goodrich Auto Works.

Kris married the love of his life, Rebecca L. Keeler on July 18, 1992 in a hot air balloon at the Wellsville New York Balloon Rally. Together, they raised 3 amazing children; Adam Kisiah, Aaron Kisiah, and Heather (Goodrich) Farrow. Starting in 2011, the sparkle in Kris and Becky's eyes became brighter with the addition of each grandchild; Noah, Maximus, Finley, Maddyson and Mya.

In 1995 Kris and Becky relocated Goodrich Auto Works to Bath, NY where they put their hearts and souls into an ever expanding business. As a team, they worked tirelessly to ensure each and every one of the thousands of customers was expertly taken care of. One of Kris's greatest achievements was taking a shop of four (4) employees and bolstering it to a cutting edge full service body shop that employs twenty seven (27) local jobs.

Building hot rods was a lifelong passion for Kris. Each "build" getting bigger and louder than the previous. His continually growing car creations and collections awarded him several best of show trophies including placing first (1) in the 2017 Syracuse National Car Show. In 2018 his creation placed #16 out of 10,000 entries.

For over 20 years Kris and Becky would decorate their home with thousands of Christmas "lights" to enhance the spirit and meaning of Christmas, and to share their belief with their artistic and creative light displays for the public to enjoy.

Kris shared his enthusiasm and passion for life with all that he encountered. He and Becky enjoyed traveling the world to over 18 countries while continually giving to those less fortunate. Their humanitarian efforts began with World Hope International in Haiti as medical responders after the catastrophic earthquake of 2010. While in Pokot, Africa, they were fortunate to sponsor and help provide four (4) water wells (with a 5th well in progress) serving over 5,000 people, a medical clinic, school and three (3) churches. Their philanthropic efforts have sponsored Reclaimed Africa Ministries, Pregnancy Resource Center of the Valleys, and Elizabeth Rose Ministries.

Friends and Family may call Friday, August 3, 2018 from 5-8 p.m. at Wallace Wesleyan Church. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 4, 2018. There will be a hot rod/show car processional escorting Kris to his final resting place at Valley View Cemetery, Jacobs Ladder Road, Avoca, New York immediately following the service. Anyone wishing to pay tribute and participate with their hot rod/show car will be lined up in the processional escort at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Wallace Wesleyan Church or Elizabeth Rose Ministries at the Buena Vista Wesleyan Church.

The "Hot Rod "streets of gold in Heaven gained a few skid marks July 30, 2018 when Kris Charles Goodrich passed thru the gates. His presence and his life contributions will be greatly missed.

The Avoca Funeral Home, 22 N. Main St. in Avoca is honored to serve the family of Kris Charles Goodrich.

I just heard of this tragic news. I had my car worked at Goodrich Auto number of times. I am really sorry for your loss. He was a super family man. Everybody couldn't wait to see their Christmas display at the house no rt 13.One side of the yard was the jolly St Nick,Santa Clause enjoyment. The other side reminded us the true message of Christmas and the birth of Christ. God loves us and takes some into Heaven for reasons we sometimes don't understand. My condolences to all of Kris's families.

I'll miss seeing Kris each year at Wallace Wesleyan church sitting with Becky and her Dad. Always smiling and very cordial. My Dad drove my car from FL to have Kris repaint it about 15 years ago. Shows my Dad's loyalty to Kris' company. Heaven is now your home, Kris. Prayers for Becky and her family.

Becky, I just got back from vacation and had a message about Kris. Carole and I are so sorry for your loss. I went to college for one year with Kris at WACC and we became friends. Even thought we didn't see each other very often, when we did, it was like we just talked yesterday. He was a good man. God bless you and you family. Dick

I am very sorry for your loss. May he rest in peace. He was a very nice man. Heaven gained an extra special individual. I remember when I won goldfish at the bath fair, and put them in your guy's pond. He was very loved.

Kris was always available to donate time and treasure to help any organization that needed it. Bath Revitalization took on the "orphan" historical "Welcome to Bath" sign that's located at Phillips Lighting and Kris donated time and energy to make it happen. A man who has blessed so many in so many ways. Thank you Kris and Becky
