Stella P. Fraboni, 94, of Watkins Glen passed away at Seneca View Skilled Nursing Facility on March 30, 2014.

She was born October 6, 1919, the youngest child of Rinaldo and Lucia Chiacchierini Fraboni of Watkins Glen, and lived for more than 70 years in the family homestead at 108 S. Perry Street.

She was predeceased by her parents; brothers Anthony, Venico, Joseph, Henry, and Dominick; by her sister, Mary Sciore; by her nephews Venico Fraboni Jr. and Edward Sciore; and by her niece Jean Pappas.

She is survived by her nephews and nieces Rena Fraboni (Arthur) Bloom of Chalfont, PA, David (Sandra) Fraboni of Green Valley, AZ, Ronald Fraboni of Minneapolis, MN, Michael (Elsie) of Green Valley, AZ, Lucia Sciore of Ithaca, NY, Barbara Fraboni of Tempe, Arizona, Mary Ellen Fraboni of Watkins Glen, Robert (Liz) Fraboni of Albuquerque, NM, John Fraboni (Anne Marie) of Ithaca, NY, and 52 great-grand and grandnephews and nieces.

Stella graduated from Watkins Glen High School in 1936 and worked at Fraboni's Grocery, owned by her brother Venico, at Franklin and Second Streets until the store closed in 1976, after which she became a cook at Joe's Breakfast House in Montour Falls.

She was a longtime volunteer at the Schuyler County Chamber of Commerce.

Until a few years ago, she rode her bicycle or walked from her home at 107 S. Perry weekdays to volunteer at the Watkins Glen Public Library.

In 2008, her more than 20 years of service to the library were honored by the renaming of their annual volunteer service award as the "Stella Award." Stella, whose name means "star" in Latin, was the first recipient of the renamed reward.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to St. Mary's of the Lake Church, PO Box 289, Watkins Glen, NY or the Watkins Glen Public Library, 610 South Decatur Street, Watkins Glen, NY.

Friends and family may call from 6pm to 8pm on Thursday, April 3rd, 2014 at the Link at St. Mary's of the Lake Church, 905 Decatur St., Watkins Glen, NY.
