Lillian L. Maslyn Obituary
Lillian L. Maslyn, age 87, of Painted Post, NY died Monday, February 3, 2014 at Absolut Care at Three Rivers in Painted Post.

Lillian was born on June 5, 1926 in Clifton Springs, NY to Cyril and Mary (Schroo) Landuyt.

She married Harold Maslyn in 1946 in Clifton Springs, NY and was preceded in death by him in 2013 after 67 years of marriage.

They lived together in Clifton Springs for many years before moving to Scottsville, NY and eventually settling in Painted Post at the Village Square Apartments.

After graduating from Clifton Springs High School she worked at the Samson Army Depot and then became a mother and homemaker. Once her children had grown, she started working for the United States Postal Service in 1966 and worked at numerous locations including Geneva, Newark, Clifton Springs, Henrietta and Scottsville, retiring in 1986.

After their retirement, Lil and Harold traveled extensively and wintered in the St Petersburg/Clearwater area.

An avid sports fan, she enjoyed watching Buffalo Bills football and Syracuse University basketball with family and friends.

Lillian was an excellent dancer and she and her husband loved swing music and never missed a chance to enjoy a night out.

Recently she enjoyed listening to the resurgent career of Tony Bennett. Lil was an avid reader of mysteries and enjoyed life to its fullest.

She was extremely proud of the successful lives led by her children. She loved sharing pictures and stories of them, their travels and her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was an active communicant of All Saints Parish.

Lillian is survived by three daughters, Linda Beauregard of Maple Shade, NJ, Patricia (Bob) Kohler of Sterling, NY, Deborah Blackstone (Tom, deceased) of Plano, TX; son, Matthew (Mary) Maslyn of Painted Post; five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Anne (Bill) Woodley.

Calling hours will be held at Haughey Funeral Home, Inc. 216 East First Street in Corning, NY, on Thursday February 6th from 3 to 5 PM with a Memorial Mass at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Painted Post on Friday at 9:30 AM.

A private burial will be held at a later date in St. Agnes Cemetery in Clifton Springs, NY.

Memorial donations may be made in Lillian's name to All Saints Parish, Corning.

Lillian's family has entrusted her care to Haughey Funeral Home, Inc.
