Paul E. Dillenbeck Obituary
Paul E. Dillenbeck, age 80, of Erwin, died Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at his home in Painted Post surrounded by his loving family.

Bud was born on December 4, 1933 in Corning to Ray and Rhea (Adsit) Dillenbeck, and graduated from High School in 1951 from Northside Blodgett High School.

As a youth he obtained the highest rank of Eagle Scout, and that lead to him spending many years as scout master in Corning of two different scout troops. He served in the United States Navy from 1951 until 1954. He married Janet Goldin on June 27, 1953 in Mississippi.

He retired from Corning Incorporated as a machinist and tool maker in 1993 and currently has over 55 years of service. He fought for the working man as he was very involved with the Local 1000 Union. Following retirement from Corning, Bud spent 11 years working part time at the Corning Building Company where he enjoyed his love of the hardware business by helping and talking with the customers. His love of the hardware business came from working in his grandfather's hardware store (Adsit Hardware) on the Northside in the 1940s and 1950s.

He is survived by his wife Janet; three daughters, Linda (Jerry) Dillenbeck-Bennett of Corning, Karen Corby of Valdosta, GA, and Kathi (Raymond) Spears of Lake City, FL; son, Paul (Pamela) Dillenbeck, Jr. of Las Vegas, NV; twelve grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephew, and cousins. Bud was predeceased by his daughter, Dorothy Tripp, son-in-law, Brian Corby, grandson, Corey Shaw, and a sister, Joyce Williamson.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 27th from 6-8 pm at Haughey Funeral Home, Inc., 216 E. First Street in Corning. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 28th at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, 171 West Pulteney Street in Corning, NY with Reverend Marraine Kettell officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Knoll Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to CareFirst, 11751 East Corning Road, Corning, NY 14830.
