Betsy Gannon, 68, of Corning, NY, died Thursday July 31, 2014, after a long illness.

She was born to the late Thomas and Frances Gannon, March 29, 1946, in Cambridge, NY. Betsy graduated from Greenwich Central School in 1964 and graduated from Alfred State College in 1966.

Betsy was a senior associate lab technician for Corning Incorporated – Sullivan Park in Corning, NY from 1966 - 2002. Following her retirement, she worked frequently in the family embroidery business in South Carolina.

She loved spending time with family and was an avid traveler with family and friends, visiting much of the globe. She also enjoyed photography, reading and puzzles. Her hobbies included collecting glass, Christmas ornaments and snowmen and train memorabilia.

She is survived by two brothers. She left behind her brother Robert Gannon of Greenwich and his wife, Barbara, and their two children, Kelly Donahue and her husband Joseph of Greenwich and Kyle Gannon of Queensbury and his wife Janeen. She is also survived by her brother William Gannon of Charleston, SC and his wife, Vicki, and their two children, Peter Gannon of Norfolk, VA and his fiancé, Marcia Thomas and Rebecca Wyckoff of Seattle, WA and her partner David Haworth and his son, Prestin. She also leaves behind her great-nieces and nephews: Kellen, Molly and Katie Gannon of Queensbury, NY.

A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to University of Rochester Medical Center Palliative Care Program, Rochester, NY 14642.
