Dorothy Overstrom Watson Obituary
Dorothy Overstrom Watson, age 74, of Painted Post, NY, passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at Corning Hospital.

Born in Corning, she was the daughter of the late Ralph H. and Julie T. (Andersen) Overstrom.

Dorothy was employed at the Corning Department of Motor Vehicles for 30 years. She was the youngest of 9 children in a family with a set of triplets and two sets of twins. Dorothy was one of the twins with her brother Donald.

She was an avid gardener and loved her flowers in the yard. She also enjoyed her bus trips with the Erwin Seniors.

Dorothy's daily enjoyment was her trip to visit friends at Wegmans and to get her winning lottery tickets.

Dorothy was well known for her sassy dressing style and keeping up on current fashion trends. Dorothy fought her breast cancer with a vengeance and was still fighting up to the last day.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Corning, where she attended weekly with her sister, Norma.

Dorothy is survived by one daughter: Robin (Kenneth) Tanner of Corning, NY; three sons: Robert Jr. (Crystal) Watson of Lindley, NY; Brian (Valerie) Watson of Painted Post, NY; and Brent (Rosanne) Watson of Colonial Beach , VA; two sisters: Norma Scott of Painted Post, NY and Nora Miller of Corning, NY; five brothers: Frank Overstrom of Ballston Spa, NY; Leon Overstrom of Skaneateles, NY; Loren Overstrom of Lansing, NY; Norman Overstrom of Painted Post, NY; and Donald Overstrom of Painted Post, NY; grandchildren: Shane Tanner, Kaitlin Tanner, Emily Tanner, Aundria Wells, Patricia Stone, Robert Watson III, Casey Watson, Braden Watson, Adam Watson, Isak Watson, and Niklas Watson; and seven great grandchildren.

Along with her parents, she is predeceased by her brother, Arthur Overstrom.

Family and friends are invited to call at Phillips Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 17 W. Pulteney St., Corning on Friday, October 11, 2013 from 6:00PM-8:00PM and again Saturday, October 12, 2013 from 2:00PM-4:00PM.

The funeral service will follow immediately at 4:00PM with Pastor James Moore officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be sent to the National Breast Cancer Foundation: 2600 Network Blvd. Suite 300, Frisco, TX 75034
