1931 – 2013
Margaret "Peggy" Lee Hinkle passed away Saturday, September 7, 2013 in Santa Clarita, CA. Though Peggy was a brief resident in Santa Clarita, she found a place into so many hearts.
Peggy was born in Havre de Grace, MD on August 23, 1931 to Edward and Norma Lee Hower. After World War II, the family moved to Pasadena, CA where she met and married Robert "Bob" W. Hinkle from Pickens, SC. Peggy and Bob raised five loving and devoted children.
Peggy was preceded in death by two sons Jamie and Paul Hinkle and her husband, Bob. She is survived by three children: Kathy Sorenson (Jerry), Robert Hinkle (Allie), and Mary Howard (Tim); three grandchildren: Chris Hinkle (Kelly) and Jessica and Victoria Howard; two great-grandchildren: Blake and Madison Hinkle; by many loving nieces and nephews and by her beloved kitty-cat, Sweetie Pie.
Peggy will be remembered for her tenacity in life, her love for animals and her loving and warm home that always welcomed any family or friend with a yummy home-made meal.
The family wishes to thank all her extended family and friends who remained devoted to her through her many health difficulties. The family would also like to extend a special thanks to Lissa and Ford (her favorite caregiver) and all the Frances Manor Board and Care staff who cared and loved her like their own family during the last year of her life.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at Conejo Mountain Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 2052 Howard Road, Camarillo, CA 93012.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be sent to Rescue Mission Alliance, P.O. Box 5545, Oxnard, CA 93031, one of Peggy's favorite charities.

I'll miss you mom more than words can say. You demonstrated how to live life with courage. It was a privilege to be your daughter. Rest peacefully in Heaven (and don't pick a fight with dad)!!

Peggy was a most warm hearted person. Anyone who could use a bit of help - she was there. I loved her sense of humor. She could laugh the most at herself. We will miss her. Kudos to her family for doing so much for her.
