1948 – 2013
Christine Alice Rife passed away on Monday, July 1, 2013 after a three year battle with Ovarian Cancer. She fought against the disease with a strength and courage that most could not meet. She passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones.
Christine was born in Burbank, CA on February 16, 1948 to Marcelle and Richard Harden. She grew up in Hollywood and moved to Burbank when she was 7 years old. She attended Village Christian School thru 9th grade. She attended Burbank High School where she was Captain of the Drill Team her senior year and graduated in 1965.
Following graduation she worked at Ansell and Ansell Law Offices, OTI Corp. and the Burbank Law Center. In 1969 Diane Lorraine was born and in 1979 Richard Anthony was born. In 1981 Christine started working at Lockheed (Martin) where she continued to work until her retirement in March of 2008.
In 1985 Christine married Scott Rife. Shortly after their wedding they moved to the Santa Clarita Valley where they enjoyed fixing up their brand new house in Canyon Country. In 1998 they moved to Valencia where they continued to live until her passing.
She enjoyed crafts of all kinds, gardening, traveling, and decorating their house for the different holidays. Her greatest joy however was achieved by her children and grandchildren who she treasured. Grammy was always up for a fun adventure with the grandkids
Christine is survived by her husband Scott Rife, mother Marcelle Harden, sister Kushi Jones and brother-in-law E.J., daughter Diane and son-in-law Jim Larson, son Richard Steinhart and daughter-in-law Brenin Steinhart and step-daughter Christine Lester, her grandchildren: Alexandra, Zachary, Madalynn and Nicholas Larson, Kirsten Steinhart, and Toby and Tyler Lester, as well as many other family and friends.
Christine will be greatly missed by her family and friends and will remain forever in our hearts.
