David B. Stanton passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2012, at the age of 73, after a very short battle with cancer. Dave retired in 2002 after teaching science since 1971 at Sierra Vista Junior High School in Canyon Country, CA. He was a creative man who enjoyed various types of woodworking and was a member of the SCV Woodcarvers Club. His latest hobby was making and selling wall hangings at craft shows using the name Calypso Crafts. Dave also loved music and taught himself to play banjo, guitar, and ukulele. After retirement he often went camping and enjoyed finding back roads to explore in his jeep.
David is survived by his wife of 50 years, Gloria; son Tim, daughter Kristen, and granddaughter Adriana; two sisters: Bette Lynn Onsager, Virginia McMillan and her husband Mick; one brother: Tim and his wife Mary; numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of David's life will be held at the Stanton home from 2-4:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 1, 2012.
