Milton John Halley

1929-2014

Milton John Halley, 84, of Arcadia, CA passed away following a long illness Wednesday January 15, 2014. He was born October 9, 1929 in Providence, Rhode Island.

Milton entered the Seminary after high school then Georgetown University in Washington D.C. He was a Race Track Groom by trade working closely with various horse trainers following them up and down the State of California at all the race tracks. He settled near the Santa Anita Race Track and worked at the betting window for five years before he retired. Although he never married or had children of his own, he had thirty nieces and nephews and was loved and adored by them all. Uncle Moe, as he was known to his family and friends, was the kindest, sweetest, and most gentle man ever and will be dearly missed by all of those that knew him.
He was a decorated veteran of WWII and the Korean War. He is survived by his niece Carolyn Conrad of Canyon Country, CA, brothers John of Rowland Heights and Vincent of San Clemente, sisters Lynn Nani of Glenview, IL, Mary LaBonte of Portland, OR, Kathy Bylund of Auburn, MA, Barbara Broady of Providence, RI, Francine Reed of W Greenwich, RI, and thirty nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Frances Halley, sister Dolores Dwyer, brothers William, Joseph and Leonard Halley.

Services were held Tuesday, February 4, 2014. He was buried with Military Honors from the Air Force at Veteran's Cemetery in Riverside, CA.
