Robert "Bob" Meza
1925 - 2013
Robert "Bob" Meza 88 of Saugus passed away from a choking accident on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 in his home. He was born September 22, 1925 in El Paso, TX to Epigminio and Soledad Meza.
At 17, Bob joined the Navy and served as a radio man in the South Pacific until his discharge in 1946. After Bob married Katherine Safian in LA in 1953 they moved to Burbank, raised 3 children and in 1979, moved to Saugus.
Bob enjoyed a long career with the LAPD from 1956 to 1992 when he retired Hollywood division as Sergeant Detective III. In 1993, Bob was widowed and kept busy hiking with his dog and enjoyed the company of his friends and family. Bob was optimistic throughout his life and will be sorely missed.
Bob is survived by his sons, Robert and Michael, daughter, Gloria and her husband Augustine Garcia along with many nieces, nephews and others that considered him "grandpa." At his request, a private memorial is being arranged.
