1933 - 2013
Sally Ann Planck passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013 in Prescott Valley, AZ, only 4 days after her 80th birthday. She had been a long time resident of the Santa Clarita Valley having moved here with her family in 1948. She was born in No. Hollywood, CA on July 13, 1933 as the third of six children to Harold and Betty Planck. She attended elementary school in Kernville, CA and graduated Hart High School in 1952.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Bill and Jack Planck. She is survived by sisters: Betty (Earl) Westcott of Homboldt, AZ; Gina Moore of Canyon Country, CA; brother Harry Planck of Spokane Valley, WA; sisters-in-law Martha Planck of Clarksville, TN and Claudine Planck of Moscow, ID; God Child Dolly Lopez (Tony) and children Lucas and Emily of Canyon Country, CA. Many nieces and nephews also mourn her passing.
She had worked at Bermite, U.S. Flare, Foxboro, and Elect-Trol over the years, but her true calling was as a "nanny" to the many children she loved and nurtured in this valley. With her loving and generous spirit she developed a multitude of life-long friendships with her co-workers, former school friends, and even new acquaintances.
As her health began to fail, she moved to Arizona two and a half years ago to be near family. While there, she received loving care from Mark and Barbara and the staff at Santa Fe House. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Newhall, CA. As she had wished, her ashes will be returned to this valley and a Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, September 29, 2013. For information please contact Dolly Lopez at 661-251-1980.
