1928 – 2013

Edwin Dwight Cady, age 84, of North Hills, CA passed away on Monday, February 18, 2013 at the Rinaldi Convalescent Hospital in Granada Hills, CA due to complications from a stroke and brain tumor and a long battle with dementia. He was born in Monrovia, CA March 28, 1928 to Leonard and Marjorie Cady and then lived in Brawley, CA where he was raised with his three siblings.

Edwin attended Pasadena City College then joined the Navy in 1948, serving in the Korean War as an electronics technician. After the war he received his BS and MS degrees from UCLA in Electrical Engineering. During his career, he worked at Hughes Aircraft, General Electric, and Litton Industries.

He is survived by his wife Mary, daughter Susan Worth (Wendall), son Steven; 4 grandchildren: Randall, Daniel (Breanne), Ryan, and Christina; brothers Howard and Robert; sister Dorothy Wick.

His hobbies were reading science fiction, hiking and snow skiing. He was an assistant Boy Scout leader in the 1970's. Edwin and Mary's greatest love was hiking and visiting with friends in Glacier National Park in Montana. They first visited in 1956 and by the 1980's they were visiting every summer with their family. Each grandchild visited at least once with them and the oldest, Randy, went for over 15 summers.

Edwin was cremated and laid to rest at Rose Hills Cemetery in Whittier, CA
