Kenneth was born in Zephyr, Ontario, Canada to James and Rose Heaton.

Dr. Heaton's distinguished career included ministering to churches from Ontario, Canada in 1956 to the Midwestern states of the U.S. until his retirement in 2004 from the Pacific Northwest Conference of the United Methodist Church.

In the '70s Ken and the congregation of Valencia UMC broke ground and erected the first church at 25718 McBean Pkwy.

Dr. Heaton is survived by his devoted wife and best friend, Sylvia, with whom he shared over 54 loving years, his son, Kenneth Jr, wife Laurel and three children Lindsay, Spencer and Chelsea, his daughter Caroline Heaton, cousin Audrey Adams, Brother-in-law Peter Matheson and wife Dorothy, Sister-in-law Marjorie and her husband Robert Nelson.
Visitation hours will be on November 15 from 4 to 8pm at Eternal Valley Memorial Park located at 23287 N. Sierra Highway, Newhall, CA. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 16, at 11am at Valencia United Methodist Church, located at 25718 McBean Pkwy. Interment to follow at Eternal Valley Memorial Park.
