Michael Harker Obituary

Michael William Harker, 22, of Canyon Country, CA & Las Vegas, NV passed away on September 19, 2011.

Michael was born March 9, 1989 in Palmdale, CA. Mike, known as "Harker" to his friends, was active in many sports growing up, and went on to play for the Canyon Cowboy Football Team that won back to back CIF championships as well as the 2006 Div 1 California State
Championship.

After high school, Mike worked in construction before moving to Las Vegas where he worked in the restaurant industry while studying at the College of Southern Nevada with plans to attend UNLV to earn a
degree in radiology.

Mike had a large loving family and is survived by his dad John, his mom Stella, brother Doug, sister Jennifer, her husband Tony, and their children Nevaeh & Jayden, whom Mike was very close to and loved dearly. In addition, Mike is survived by grandparents Jack & Sharon Harker, and Ralph & Karen Chavez, as well as many aunts, uncles and
cousins who loved him very much.

Mike's short life made a great impact on those that knew him. He was loyal, kind hearted, and a man of integrity. He left behind a great number of friends that cherished the time they spent with him. Mike's life had purpose and God took him away from us far too early, but he now lives with our Heavenly Father.

The family will be holding a celebration of his life on Saturday October 1st from 1:00-3:00pm at Grace Baptist Amphitheatre located at 22833 Copper Hill Drive Saugus, CA. All who loved Michael are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donations to Triumph-Foundation.org a charity that Mike
played an integral part in as a volunteer.

Longing For One More Day When we lose someone we love it seems that time stands still. What moves through us is a silence... a quiet sadness... A longing for one more day... one more word... one more touch... We may not understand why you left this earth so soon, or why you left before we were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, we begin to remember not just that you died, but that you lived. And that your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget. We will see you again some day, in a heavenly place where there is no parting. A place where there are no words that mean good-bye. (Irish prayer)
We love and will forever miss you Michael. I remember the sweet and innocent little boy you were that had grown into an even sweeter man. May you watch over your loved ones who's hearts are broken until we can meet again , Love Kelly and Savannah
