1924 – 2016
Robert "Bob" Charles Hough, also known as "Grumps", passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 19, 2016, two weeks after his 92nd birthday. Born on April 5, 1924 in Nebraska to Cathryn Haakinson and Elvin Hough, he moved to California at the age of 10 and never looked back. Bob lived a long and rewarding life with a twinkle in his eye and a sense of humor that was infectious to all who knew him.
Bob was married to the love of his life, Dorothy Jean Hough, for 65 years. They met when Bob was a Sergeant in the Army Air Force and were married shortly after the end of World War II. His wife, children and grandchildren were the joy of his life.
Bob worked as a salesman for The Wonder Bread company, retired at the age of 62, and was an avid golfer and tennis player. He loved Frank Sinatra and a good Martini.
He is survived by his son Tom, daughter-in-law Kris, and granddaughters Amy and Lindsay, who will always love him ""a bushel and a peck."" Bob was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy and his daughter Mindy. In lieu of flowers and cards, the family invites those wishing to send condolences to make a donation to the Santa Clarita Valley Youth Project at www.helpnothassle.org/in-memory-of-robert-hough/.

Tom...I will think of and miss your dad everyday for a very long time. Gonna miss hearing "Hey Kid where you been" He was kind & funny, remember years ago just hanging with him and Dot watching Tennis, mostly cause he didnt like me talking when it was on...I love your dad. It was a pleasure knowing him. Thanks for the laughs Bob. Always in my heart.
