Unit Director of Corporate Healthcare Initiatives, American Cancer Society Santa Clarita Valley Unit

Heather Warrick, 43, passed away on Friday, February 1, 2013 following a 19-year battle with cancer. Born on August 5, 1969 in Panorama City, CA Heather was a lifelong Santa Clarita Valley resident. Diagnosed with breast cancer at age 24, she became an ardent supporter of the American Cancer Society. Initially she served for eight years as a volunteer of the ACS SCV Unit, becoming the youngest ACS vice president and president. She later became an integral ACS staff member, serving more than 10 years as Health Programs Manager and then ACS SCV Unit Director of Corporate Healthcare Initiatives.

Heather is survived by her husband Chad Warrick; mother Nancy (Cameron) Coulter; father Patrick (Char) Clelland; twin sister Dawn (Al) Poirier and their children, Madison, Kennedy, Lincoln, and Landon; brother Scott (Debbie) and their son Hayden; father- and mother-in-law Bill and Anita Warrick; sister- in-law Cam and children MaKenna and Tyler; and her Pugs, Gus and Farley.

A Celebration of Life for Heather Warrick will be held from 2-4:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 10, 2013 in the Grand Ballroom of the Hyatt Regency, 24500 Town Center Drive, Valencia, CA 91355. Due to limited seating, the family respectfully requests adults-only attend the service.

Heather, who had metastatic cancer for more than half of her life, lived by a phrase and recommended it to all: "Hope and hopelessness are both a choice~ why not choose hope!"

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a fund set-up, per Warrick's request, through which all donations will be applied to charities that were close to her heart.
