David Lloyd Engler, 97, of Mountain Top, passed away Wednesday at the hospice unit of the Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Folstown, Slocum Township, he was a son of the late David and Florence (Fink) Engler.
David was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church in Mountain Top; the Irem Shrine, Dallas, and the Coalville Masonic Lodge. He was a 32nd-degree Mason.
Prior to his retirement, David was a maintenance supervisor for both the L.E. Spaide and Elick trucking companies, and was vice president of maintenance for the LaBar Trucking Co.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were his wife, Grace Engler, and an infant brother.
Surviving are his daughter, Florence Lear, and husband David, Mountain Top; son, David Engler, Floral City, Fla.; sister, Shirley Edwards, Catasauqua, Pa.; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. from the McCune Funeral Home, 80 S. Mountain Blvd., Mountain Top. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family. Friends may call on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and again on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.

May God be with the Engler and Lear family at this time. I remember when their car would be in one of your drive ways and we were out playing in the yard, "Oh gotta go, the grandparents are here." You were so fortuneate to have them.
