Frank Louis Kiwak

Frank Louis Kiwak, 66, of Kingston passed away unexpectedly but peacefully Saturday, April 27, 2013 at his home.

Born Dec. 22, 1946 in Swoyersville, Frank was the son of Helen Stroinski Kiwak, Luzerne, and the late Frank Kiwak. He was a graduate of Swoyersville High School, Class of 1964, and continued his education at King's College.

Frank was a U. S. Army Reservist from 1966 to 1972. He was a past commander of the Black Diamond Post American Legion in Kingston and later belonged to Post 644, Swoyersville. Frank was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Kingston Rotary and a recipient of its Paul Harris Award.

Frank was a dedicated employee with Anderson Material Handling for many years.

He was known for his love of sports, specifically the New York Yankees; his gardening; his mastery in the kitchen, especially his soup, and for his caring and sensitive nature. Frank was passionate about his pool, golf and the beach. He was an avid reader and usually had multiple books going at one time. Frank adored his granddaughters, and they idolized him. His loyal dog, Jill, was his partner in crime; she never left his side.

Frank was a very loving, compassionate and caring husband, father, son, brother, pop-pop and friend. He was extremely proud of his family and loved each of them unconditionally.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife of 44 years, the former Margaret Gimber, Kingston; daughter, Tracy Kiwak Blannett, and husband, Joseph, Chalfont, Pa.; son, Frank Kiwak, and wife, Abbe, Chalfont, Pa.; granddaughters, Samantha, Mallory, Ava and Meredith; sister, Irene Patty Galletti, and husband Bill; brother, Larry Kiwak, and wife Joann, all of Swoyersville; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 1, at 10 a.m. from the Harold C. Snowdon Home for Funerals Inc., 420 Wyoming Ave. Kingston. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. in the Church of St. Ignatius Loyola, 335 N. Maple St., Kingston. The Rev. Richard Cirba will officiate. Friends may call Tuesday, April 30, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
