TUNKHANNOCK — Peter Sokoloski, 63, of Tunkhannock, died Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018, in Allied Services Hospice Center, Scranton.

Peter was born Jan. 12, 1955, in Wilkes-Barre, son of Marjorie Bond Sokoloski and the late Peter Sokoloski. He graduated from Wyoming Valley West High School in 1973 where he wrestled on the Spartan's varsity wrestling team.

Peter worked for many years in the landscape construction field and later in facilities management. Following his retirement, Peter was happiest spending his time at home puttering around with his John Deeres taking care of his property in Tunkhannock.

Peter enjoyed attending high school and college wrestling matches and following the progress of local athletes throughout their scholastic careers. He was an avid arm chair sports fan and would often be tuned in to golf, Orioles baseball or Colts football.

Peter is survived by his best friend and wife of 41 years, Linda (Bonnice) Sokoloski, and his beloved Irish Setter, Reilly. In addition to his mother, Marjorie, he is also survived by sister, Anna Mae Usevicz; brother Richard Sokoloski and his wife, Beverly; sister, Sharon and her husband, James McCabe; sister, Marjorie and her husband, Art Fealy; sister, Mary and her husband, Gregg Evans; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday from the Hugh B. Hughes & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 1044 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort, with Rev. Dennis Gray officiating. Interment will be in Saint Ann's Cemetery, Lehman. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
