Elmer G. "Bud" Poehlman

CLARKS SUMMIT — Elmer G. "Bud" Poehlman, 77, of Clarks Summit, died Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at Moses Taylor Hospital in Scranton. He was the husband of Marjorie White Poehlman. The couple has been married for 57 years.

Born in Mill City, he was a son of the late Elmer and Elsie Andres Poehlman. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. Prior to retirement, he was a field engineer and program manager for ITT Corporation, Ft. Wayne, Ind. He was in charge of building and supporting electronic command and control systems for Strategic Air Command (SAC) and Strategic Command of the U.S. Air Force.

After retirement in 1997, he moved to Clarks Summit. He was a member of the Waverly Lodge #301 F&AM and the Clarks Summit United Methodist Church.

Bud was known to many of his friends as George and he would frequently write editorials in the Scranton Times.

Also surviving are a son Mark, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; a daughter, Ruth Jacobson and her husband, Terry, Westfield, Pa.; four grandchildren, Kylee and William Jacobson and Jeffery and Timothy Poehlman; a sister, Dorothy Galloway, Harrisburg; several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held in the Clarks Summit United Methodist Church, with services by the Rev. Judith Adams, pastor.
