William "Rex" Lynady

CLARKS SUMMIT — William "Rex" Lynady, 85, of Clarks Summit, died Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton. His wife was Ruth Lee Lynady, who died on July 6, 2010.

Born in Carbondale, he was the son of late Paul and Marion Cox Lynady. He was a devout Catholic and a member of Our Lady of the Snows Church. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Abington Memorial Post VFW #7069.

Rex was a dock foreman for Fowler & Williams Trucking for many years, most recently, he drove school buses in the Abington Heights School District for over 35 years.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Lynady, who died last March.

Surviving is a daughter, Maria Bergotta; a son, Paul Lynady; a step-daughter, Lynn Viechec and her husband, Gary, Hazle Township; two stepsons, Wesley Dunn Jr., Massachusetts, and Scott Dunn and his wife, Vivian, Missouri; several grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of the Snows Church, 301 S. State St., Clarks Summit. All those attending are asked to go directly to the church. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit.
