CLARKS SUMMIT — Frank Zampella Sr., of Clarks Summit, died Sunday morning, April 27, 2014, at the Dunmore Health Care Center, surrounded by his family.
Born in Italy, he was the son of the late Michael L. and Philomena Esposito Zampella.
Prior to his retirement, he was a produce buyer for many New York City restaurants. He was very proud of his heritage but was full of pride to become an American with his siblings at a young age. Frank was a determined man who followed his dreams by coming to the land of opportunity.
Frank enjoyed cooking, gardening, rides in the country and socializing with many of his friends.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary, and two brothers, Nicholas and Dominick.
Surviving are his children, Frank Zampella Jr., Lydia Rutigliano, Phyllis Zampella, Michael and his wife, Teresa, and Toni Ann Zampella; eight grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The Mass of Christian Burial was held in Our Lady of the Snows Church, 301 S. State St., Clarks Summit.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home.
