Robert "Bob" Prescott
LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 6, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in Melancon Funeral Home Acadian Parlor in Carencro for Robert Lois Prescott, age 77, who passed away Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 1:56 p.m. at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette.
Interment will be in Evangeline Memorial Gardens in Carencro.
Mr. Prescott was a native of Waycross, Georgia and a resident of Lafayette for the past 30 years. A veteran of the United States Airforce, Mr. Prescott served in the Vietnam War. After retiring from the Air Force after 24 years of service, he was employed with PHI as a shop foreman and helicopter mechanic for over 20 years. Mr. Prescott was a parishioner of Church of Christ of Latter Day Saints in Opelousas.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Wordna Love Guillory Prescott of Lafayette; eight children and stepchildren, Frank Keith Hall and his wife, Connie, of Carencro, Steven Ray Hall, Sr. of Broussard, Robert C. Prescott, Donna Marie H. Hebert and her husband, Michael, of Carencro, Ashley Nicole Allemand and her husband, Derek, of Lafayette; Linda Mead of Charlotte, NC, Gwendolyn Lescheck, and Lois Potter of California; fifteen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer Lois Prescott and the former Lula Jaunelle Durrence; and one grandson, Steven Ray Hall, Jr.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and will continue from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Thursday.
