Patrick "Rooster" Chiasson
CARENCRO - Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 23, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Patrick "Rooster" Chiasson, age 54, who passed away Friday, May 17, 2013 at 10:15 p.m. at his residence in Breaux Bridge.
Pastor David Baudoin, pastor of Crossroads Church in Lafayette, will officiate at the services.
Mr. Chiasson was a native and lifelong resident of Carencro. He was self-employed as a flooring installer. "Rooster" was a compassionate, caring, loving, devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was a friend to everyone. There will never be another like him. His tremendous love and commitment to his family was the greatest blessing ever.
Survivors include his wife, Jessica Chiasson, of Carencro; two sons, Joshua Chiasson and his wife, Lucy, of Lafayette and Zachary Prudhomme of Las Vegas, NV; five daughters, Chassity Chiasson Cannino and her husband, Brian, of Cecilia, Lacey Prudhomme of Crowley, Heidi Prudhomme of Arnaudville, Victoria Granger of Lafayette and Gillian Long of Madison, WI; nine grandchildren, Hunter Lege, Harlie Lege, Hollie Lege, Tyler Guillory, Elena Cannino, Brennan Cannino, Brilan Cannino, Sophia Chiasson and Cameron Granger; three brothers, Rex Allen Chiasson and his wife, Donna, of Gulfport, MS, Kenneth Paul Chiasson and his wife, Roxanne, of Carencro and John Roy Chiasson, Jr. and his wife, Michelle, of Breaux Bridge; and two sisters, Jacquline Chiasson Albarado and Geraldine Chiasson Bordelon, both of Carencro.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Roy Chiasson, Sr. and the former Andrea Benoit, both natives of Carencro; one brother, Anthony Chiasson; and two brothers-in-law, Calvin Albarado and John Bordelon.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 11:00 a.m. Thursday until service time on Thursday.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of St. Joseph Hospice for the care given to Mr. Chiasson.
