Dennie Mims
CARENCRO - Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 6, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Dennie Mims, age 73, who passed away Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 5:26 a.m. at University Medical Center in Lafayette.
Interment will be in Evangeline Memorial Gardens in Carencro. Pastor Chad Thibodeaux, pastor of First Baptist Church of Vatican, will officiate at the services.
Mr. Mims was a native of Hattiesburg, MS and a resident of Carencro for over thirty years.
Survivors include one son, Harold Jeffery Mims of Opelousas; one daughter, Cynthia Mims Morgan of Breaux Bridge; four grandchildren, Kaleb Michael Mims, Samantha Leigh Morgan, Seth Thomas Morgan and his wife, Whitney, and Rebekah Haley Warner and her husband, Phillip; one great grandchild, Colten James Warner; one daughter-in-law, Mollie Comeaux of Carencro; and one sister-in-law, Edith Mims of Carencro.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin Dennie Mims, Sr. and the former Charity Bell Roseberry, both natives of Hattiesburg, MS; his former wife, Judith Mims; two brothers, James Otis Mims and Carl Clayborn Mims; and two sisters, Louise Guinn and Georgia Rayburn.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 a.m. Sunday until service time on Sunday.
